About Us

A family-owned restoration company built on integrity, clear communication, and craftsmanship you can trust. We protect your home, keep our promises, and never cut corners.

Our Mission

We built this company as a family by doing the simple things that earn trust and keep it: show up, protect carefully, communicate clearly, finish beautifully, and stand behind the result. In a field known for delays, surprise costs, ghosting, and poor craftsmanship, our goal is to ease your stress—with price‑lock estimates, daily progress updates in your Client Job Portal, background‑checked employees, and a clean, safe jobsite. When something isn’t up to our standards (or yours), we make it right—quickly.

Our Story

Shanco started with a simple belief: do the work the right way, every time. Our founders built the company through determination, long days, and an unwavering commitment to clients. Today, Mom and Dad still serve as our only Project Managers—on site before sunrise—coordinating crews, double‑checking protection and finishes, and making sure projects never fall behind. We aren’t perfect, but we don’t stop until the work is.

Meet The Team

Skilled craftspeople, carefully screened and continuously trained. Led by our founders—your on‑site project managers—who keep every job moving and every standard high.

John Shannon

John Shannon founded Shanco Restoration as a one‑man contractor, handling every phase in the field while his wife, Katy Sevillano, managed administration. With 20+ years in general construction, John brings hands‑on know‑how and operational discipline to every project. As Director of Operations, he is the lead contact for active jobs and new project inquiries—building schedules, coordinating crews and subcontractors, and making sure work is completed safely, on time, and to specification.

John personally reviews and approves all estimates and bid proposals to ensure consistent, fair pricing. He leads training and vetting for new hires, sets quality standards on jobsites, and is known for proactive communication and fast issue resolution. Clients trust John because he treats every job with the utmost importance and never compromises on craftsmanship or schedule.

After surviving a critical COVID-19 illness that led to nine months of hospitalization and a dual lung-and-kidney transplant at Stanford, John’s story stands as a testament to his resilience and determination. That same perseverance shows in how he leads projects and supports his team every day.

For new projects, proposals, or scheduling, John is your primary point of contact. (For COIs and subcontractor documentation, please reach out to Katy Sevillano.)

Director Of Administration, Founder

Katy Sevillano

Katy Sevillano keeps Shanco Restoration’s projects moving and our standards high. Born and trained in Peru, Katy is a formally educated and licensed architect there who led operations at her own firm before moving to the U.S. around 2001. While her Peruvian architect license isn’t active in the United States, she brings an architect’s eye for detail to every restoration and construction project—reading floor plans, verifying scope, and coordinating crews in the field.

As Director of Project Administration & Quality Assurance, Katy manages business license renewals, subcontractor onboarding, and Certificates of Insurance (COIs), and she’s frequently on jobsites directing teams, checking quality, and keeping schedules on track. Her blend of administrative rigor and hands‑on leadership ensures our work is completed safely, on time, and to specification.

Need a COI, W‑9, or other subcontractor documentation? Katy is your point of contact and will make sure everything is compliant and delivered quickly.

Director of Business Systems & Analytics

Patrick Shannon

Patrick Shannon helps Shanco Restoration run on data, disciplined processes, and clear project controls. A University of Washington graduate with a B.B.A. in Finance, Patrick joined the company to formalize operations and scale responsibly. As Director of Business Systems & Analytics, he designs and maintains the workflows that connect estimating, scheduling, field production, and close‑out. He owns the CRM/ERP stack, job‑costing and profitability reporting, and company KPIs—building repeatable SOPs and dashboards that keep projects on schedule and on budget.

Week to week, you’ll find Patrick auditing project data, modeling schedules, standardizing documentation, and turning field feedback into process improvements that boost quality and client experience. Partnering closely with Administration and Operations, he ensures compliance, safety, and quality metrics are tracked and acted on so every restoration project finishes to spec.

Working With Shanco

We pride ourselves on executing every job to the highest standard. Our team has worked in thousands of homes over the years, and we’ve developed techniques that are fast and effective.

Two workers tackle a home restoration project, painting a large ceiling in a room covered with protective plastic sheets. One is on scaffolding, the other on stilts. Furniture and floors are shielded, showing careful restoration Seattle style.

Shanco Employee

Gael O.

Lead Interior Finishing Specialist

Starting at 17 with zero experience, Gael grew at ShanCo into the teammate everyone calls when the stakes are high—level-5 smooth finishes, tricky texture matches, and clean, even spray work. He’s equal parts craftsman and mentor, known for calm problem-solving, tidy jobsites, and pride in the final walkthrough. At 29, he’s a devoted dad of two (a daughter and a son) and a husband who spends his afternoons chasing soccer balls and fetch with Max, the family German Shepherd Dog. His story is why we invest in training and celebrate long-term growth at ShanCo.

Santiago Headshot

Santiago R.

Logistics & Inventory Lead

Santiago keeps our projects on schedule—delivering materials, tracking inventory, and pitching in with painting as his skillset continues to grow. An architect in his home country, he moved to the U.S. to pursue construction management and is currently studying toward that goal. Reliable. Organized. Team-first.

Emilio R.

Interior Finishing Specialist

Emilio is one of our go-to finishers—an exceptional painter with a sharp eye for smooth, clean lines and pro-grade drywall finishing. He joined Shanco six years ago with no experience and steadily built his craft through discipline and pride in the work. Off the clock, he performs in a mariachi band, bringing the same energy and precision to every performance.

Carlos A.

Interior Finishing Specialist

Having joined Shanco six years ago and knowing little about the trades— today he’s one of our go-to drywallers and painting specialists. Clients notice his clean lines, seamless finishes, and attention to detail during prep and finishing. Outside of work, he’s a devoted husband and dad who unwinds with a good book.
